HON30MDT002 is the Frosted Extreme Detail, and Frosted Ultra Detail versions. FXD is priced at $50.00, and FUD is $34.00. FUD and FXD are the same materials, and have the same properties. I can say with certainty though, that the FXD is nicer. There is less "layering" with FXD, curved surfaces are much nicer because of a 16 micron layer height, and because it's printed "tighter" the parts are a bit stronger, at least from all of my completely unscientific testing.
I created two separate files because the details don't look as good in WSF, which means that to me at least, it's best to just omit them.
I have gotten a lot of questions in the last few days about On30, and On18. I will say this...You will probably see an On18 body kit for the MDT soon, as well as the distinct possibility of On30 trucks, and maybe some kits. I've been "accused" of abandoning On30, which is not the case at all. I don't have an On30 layout, nor do I have the space for one, so my primary scale is HOn30. Ever since my early days of reading the Carl Arendt Micro Layout site, I've been interested in On18 as well, so just be patient, and see what I develop in my mad scientist's lab.
Once my FXD version arrives, I'll be posting pictures...so stick around. I love to see your work too, so drop me an email with pictures of the stuff you have built with Marsh Creek parts and kits, and I'll get them up on the Gallery page!
